My ford Taurus 00 front brakes will not stop squeaking! Any ideas on what to do? My front brake pads do have shims on them but my previous owner kept the shims on, i have no idea if they need them or not. should i keep them on? they fall off when i take out the pads but i left them on. (wouldnt a set of pads come with new shims?) and I also got new rotors. should i just grease the hell out of the pads and clean all the parts? and what should i do about the shims? |

First off dont grease the pads, if you got new rotors get a set of pads they come with them if they are required. they are squeaking because the pads have wear sensors and when your padfs get low these sensors make contact with the surface and they will squeak letting you know it is time for pads and with new pads and rotors you just installthem noneed to have the rotors turned, if replacing the rotors requires taking the hub apart be sure to grease the bearings if not the job will be much easier.
